Isaac Does It Again
For a second year running, Isaac has scooped the Blenheim Gymnastics Association Awards 2010. With another impressive performance at Gymsport New Zealand's National Competition in Hamilton (3rd over all New Zealand), he once again dominated the prize giving ceremony with an outstanding haul of awards for all six disciplines as well as the coveted Men's Artistic Gymnast Of The Year 2010.
Once again he has made us very proud parents and justified the many hours spent on the road throughout year.

2010 was certainly a hectic year; travelling to Christchurch every second weekend to train with Gymsport Canterbury Coaches; Yoshi Ferencz, Mike Plourde and the other excellent coaching staff in Christchurch. Our sincere thanks to them all for allowing Isaac to train with them, we very much appreciate their time and energy and have seen a very great improvement in his performance throughout the year.
We would also like to acknowledge the outstanding commitment and achievements of Isaac's Blenheim coaching staff; Allan Best and Gillian Palmer. Without their dedication, skill and determination Isaac would not have achieved as much as he has and they are very much responsible for the success Isaac has enjoyed in recent years.

At last I've got myself organised and released my new Album "Always On My Mind".
Ok...so it's been a long time coming, but with everything else that goes on around here it's quite a challenge finding a quiet time when I can record without all the noise that a busy family makes.
So, here it is!! You can either download for FREE or send me an email and I will send you a copy on disk. If you like it, please feel free to make a donation, all proceeds will go towards Isaac's gym training which, as you can imagine, is not cheap.

WA Beckons
Well, it's been coming for some time now and the timing seems right to answer the call. That's right, we're on our way to Aussi. I've just come back from a couple of weeks in Perth, and I have to say...I was very impressed. The economy is booming over there, jobs are a plenty and the climate...OMG, the climate!!!
I was there for ten days and nine out of the ten was warm, not hot, just comfortably warm (29), fine and very pleasant. Perth was a very pretty city; not quite what we're looking for; it's probably a bit big for our taste (...all except Danielle that is), but 2-3 hours south of Perth I found a couple of delightful little cities about the same size as Nelson and Blenheim which
were particularly "idyllic".
So, it's back off to WA in a couple
of weeks to take one of a number
of offers made to me while I was
over there. The family will probably
follow in the months to come but it'll
soon be "so long" to the land of the
long hard recession and "hello" to
the glorious sunsets of Western
Australia.
In truth, we've been planning a return
to Aus' for a couple of years now, it
just seems that the time is right to
make the move. The kids have been
asking for some time why we can't
move and it's getting harder and harder to justify staying. Danielle is looking to join the Navy
in the next couple of years and it will certainly help her chances if we actually live there. As
you'll know, Isaac has been doing very well with his Gymnastics and it seems if you really want to pursue this very demanding sport, you need to be training and competing in Australia. Joshua can't quite see it yet, but I think he'll really enjoy it over there; there's a lot more to offer teenagers looking for adventure and excitement than there is in our sleepy neck of the woods ....that's for sure!!
We wish all our friends here in New Zealand the very best, and look forward to you all taking a nice long holiday with us in Western Australia some time. There's always a bed for you there and it's a great place to vacation. We'll see you there soon!!
